While assembling a remarkable lineup of bands for July 14th at Gallery 5, I thought to myself that I wanted to revisit the past. I wanted to put on a show where I could achieve multiple things at the same time. For starters, I could give people a good idea as to the types of bands that I have invited to take part in my live concert series WRIR and the Commonwealth of Notions Presents. I could also utilize this as a means of checking in with some old friends and see what they have been up to. And lastly, I could have a little bit of fun at everyone’s expense. So here’s the deal with July 6th. An event entitled “Previously on WRIR and the Commonwealth of Notions Presents” is taking place at Cellar Door. Who’s playing? Well, that’s the fun part. Details aren’t being revealed regarding that until the night prior. There are two outlets that will be used to unveil this information. One of which is a fairly popular news media outlet and the other will be the one and only WRIR during Paul’s Boutique (which airs from 9-11PM on Thursday evenings). There will be four bands/artists/musical thoughts appearing at Cellar Door on July 6th. They could be everything from new projects that have emerged since last year’s festivities to solo sets by participants in said band to even an exact replica of one of the bands that played the first annual WRIR and the Commonwealth of Notions Presents. One thing is for certain. This is going to be a hell of a night and a perfect way to set everything full speed ahead for July 14th which will be the absolutely wonderful WRIR and The Commonwealth of Notions Presents: Volume Two!
